Open Communications

Let your employees know what‘s going on.  Keep them informed on a consistent basis regarding the health of the organization.  Don’t let rumors take root and bring down employee morale and productivity. The key to developing a loyal workforce is to build a root system as soon as a new employee comes onboard.  As in all long-term relationships, professional or otherwise, a well-anchored relationship will weather the periodic storms we all encounter from the everyday stresses of our lives.  Nurture that relationship from day one, so when the storm, professional disagreement, does strike, a casualty is not encountered and the ship doesn't sink - employee termination.  If we listen to and objectively discuss our differences, we will come away with a better understanding of where we both stand and will have honestly made the effort to bridge those differences.  That's about all you can ask for; an open forum to solicit suggestions and communicate different viewpoints.
